IS CONCIERGE MEDICINE RIGHT FOR ME?
We think so. To find out more about the benefits of our concierge medical practice, see our Become a Patient information. Lake Washington Primary Care accepts all patients over the age of 16.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
Yes, we accept most major health insurances. Please confirm with your insurance company that Dr. Goode is a preferred provider. If you do not have insurance, or if you have a high deductible insurance plan, each office visit will cost $195 to be paid at the time of the visit.
Insurances Currently Accepted:
In 2018 insurance plans purchased individually through the Exchange do not contract with small group or individual physicians like Dr. Goode, so we are not able to see these patients.

DO I NEED HEALTH INSURANCE?
No, but it is highly recommended that you have regular health insurance so services such as blood work, x-rays, specialist consults, etc. are covered as determined by your health plan.

HOW MUCH IS AN OFFICE VISIT IF I DO NOT HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE?
$195 per visit.

HOW MUCH IS THE RETAINER FEE?
$99 a month.

HOW IS THE ANNUAL RETAINER FEE PAID?
You can choose one of three options. The annual retainer fee can be paid at the beginning of your enrollment year, twice a year, or each month. There is no extra charge for paying it monthly, and there is no discount for paying it annually. We can arrange for automatic credit card deductions at one of the above three frequencies, or you can pay by check.

DO I HAVE TO SIGN A CONTRACT?
Yes, you will sign a contract; but you can leave the practice at any time without any financial penalty. We understand circumstances can change. You will not be responsible for any retainer payments after the month you decide to leave, and you will be credited back any retainer payments you have already made beyond that month.

CAN I PAY THE RETAINER FEE THROUGH MY COMPANY’S PRE-TAX PLAN SUCH AS A FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT OR HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNT?
You may be able to pay with your FSA account; individual company policies vary. Please discuss this with your Human Resources department. Whether you can pay with your HSA account is evolving/changing; there is legislation currently underway that will allow patients to use their HSA account to pay the retainer fee for concierge medical practices.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER CHARGES?
Not from us. However, you are responsible for all office co-pays, coinsurance, deductibles, etc. that your insurance company requires.

HOW MUCH IS PARKING?
Parking is free.

WHAT TYPE OF PROCEDURES DOES DR. GOODE DO IN THE OFFICE?
Dr. Goode performs most of the common office procedures that family medicine physicians do including laceration repair, suture removal, the removal of precancerous skin lesions, mole biopsies and pap smears.

WHAT IF I NEED BLOOD WORK, IMMUNIZATIONS, OR X-RAYS?
You can have blood work and some immunizations done at Lake Washington Primary Care. Dr. Goode uses PACLAB for blood tests and urine samples. Skin biopsies and Pap smears are sent to Cellnetix. Check with your insurance company to see if labs done by PACLAB and Cellnetix are covered. You can also have blood work done at The Polyclinic. If you need x-rays, a CT scan or an MRI, Dr. Goode will refer you to The Polyclinic or to the place of your or your insurance company’s choice.

WHAT ABOUT SPECIALTY CARE?
Dr. Goode refers to the excellent specialists at The Polyclinic and on the Eastside. If you prefer another specialist or if your insurance company requires you to go elsewhere, he will work with whomever you like.

WHICH HOSPITAL WILL I GO TO IF I NEED TO BE HOSPITALIZED?
Dr. Goode works with the hospitalists at Swedish Medical Center and Overlake Medical Center. If you prefer or if your insurance company requires you to go elsewhere, he will work with the hospital of your choice. Like most primary care physicians these days, he no longer does hospital work.

WILL DR. GOODE COMMUNICATE WITH THE HOSPITALISTS?
Yes. Dr. Goode wants to be actively involved in your care. He will make sure the hospital team has all of your current medical information. Dr. Goode will remain in contact with you and the hospital team to help coordinate your care.

CAN I COMMUNICATE WITH DR. GOODE BY EMAIL?
Yes. Once you become a patient, you can set up an account through the secure online patient portal.

HOW WILL I CONTACT DR. GOODE AFTER HOURS AND ON THE WEEKENDS?
We will provide Dr. Goode’s cell and home telephone numbers. If another physician is covering on the weekends or if Dr. Goode is on vacation, we will provide the covering physician’s contact information.
